The following is an edited excerpt from the June Mag
Hi everyone,
There's another set on the way! Congratulations to Sarah and Ben and their boys William and James who are awaiting the birth of their triplets later this year. There are now two sets of triplets on the way in SA after a very dry spell. I'm guessing it won't be long until there are more, on average there are usually 4-5 per year.
On the home front we've just been to a very well organised 5th birthday party ... a "Fairy Craft Party" was requested and that it was. Zoe and Sophia dressed up in their fairy dresses and Noah donned his blue fairy wings and off we went! There were star fairy wands to decorate, different shaped boxes brightly pre-painted ready for coloured jewels to be stuck on, and thin elastic lengths with individual cups of beads to thread on to make into necklaces. The children, all girls bar Noah, were busy and happy the entire time. I'm reckoning if there were more girls in the mix it could've been a little more chaotic!
Going to this party made me think "Maybe I could throw a party like this for my trio", but the more I thought about it the more I realised it looked like such hard work, and I wondered if I was ready for crafts on top of organising a party for three children, complete with three cakes! The birthday party issue is becoming a tricky one this year. The gang are talking about inviting children from child-care ... I thought I wouldn't have to worry about this until they started kindy! I don't know how I feel about hosting a party where the parents aren't my friends. And I don't know how I'd feel about being responsible for my own three plus those children whose parents drop off and come back when it's all over. I know that I won't be able (and won't want) to have a say over who my children choose as friends for much longer. That's exciting and slightly alarming at the same time!
I'd be really interested to hear more from other members about their multiples' birthday parties so please let me know! You might have a good story to tell - if so, can I tempt you to submit it to the Office for the next Mag?
Until next time,
Bianca
